Lincoln-Way Area Chorale to Perform “Messiah” at Carnegie Hall

Distinguished Concerts International New York has announced that Director Mr. Greg Day and the Lincoln-Way Area Chorale have been invited to participate in a performance of Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, November 27, 2016. They will join other choristers to form the Distinguished Concerts Singers International and perform with full orchestra.  This is the 6th  annual presentation by DCINY of the “Messiah Refreshed”, which is performed to sold out audiences on the Sunday after Thanksgiving each year.

Dr. Jonathon Griffith, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for DCINY states: “The Lincoln-Way Area Chorale received this invitation because of the high quality and high level of musicianship demonstrated by the singers.  It is quite an honor just to be invited to perform in New York.  These wonderful musicians not only represent a high quality of music and education, but they also become ambassadors for the entire community.  this is an event of extreme pride for everybody and deserving of the community’s recognition and support.”

The adult Lincoln-Way Area Chorale is in its 21st season and performs 2 concerts a year as well as presentations at local venues.  The Chorale will be soliciting donations from local businesses and individuals and conducting other fund raising events in the coming months to help defray the performance and administrative costs associated with this concert.  These donations will also go to help fund future Chorale productions as well as our scholarship program.
